Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Hospital in Eugene, Oregon, is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! We are a multi-doctor, AAHA-accredited, small animal hospital that has proudly served our community since 1962.

Requirements:

• Preference will be given to candidates with animal-related experience; however, we’re also open to training individuals who love animals and have great customer service skills
• Must be comfortable around small animals (cats and dogs)
• Takes pride in being punctual, dependable, and reliable
• Self-starters who take initiative and pay close attention to detail
• Compassionate team players who have excellent communication skills
• Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time
• Excellent computer/technology skills (we’re paperless-EzyVet)
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assisting in exams
• Client communication and education
• Patient handling and restraint
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Administering vaccines and medications
• Blood draws and IV catheter placement
• Outpatient procedures
• Microscopic evaluation
• Pharmacy duties
• Handling medical records
• General cleaning
• Assisting with phone calls

Full-time benefits and compensation:

• Competitive pay: $15.50 - $17.45/hour (based on experience)
