Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various tasks and procedures
- Provide animal care, including feeding, grooming, and exercising
- Handle animals safely and with compassion
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic or hospital
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Assist with diagnostic procedures, such as X-rays or ultrasounds
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Skills:
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques
- Understanding of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment
- Experience in kennel or pet sitting services
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and pet owners
- Basic knowledge of pet grooming practices is a plus
