Veterinary Assistant

Carver Lake Veterinary Center has an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Assistantto join our team! We are looking for compassionate, motivated team players who are committed to excellent client service and exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate:

• Comfortable around small animals and exotics
• Positive, upbeat, and cheerful attitude
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
• Remains calm in emotional, stressful, and fast-paced environments
• Committed to a career in veterinary medicine with interest in growth and ongoing training
• Experience in a veterinary office or other animal-related role is a plus, but not required

This is a full-time, Monday-Saturday role comprised of 4-10s. Must be open to providing rotating Saturday coverage (usually 2 per month).

Skills and responsibilities:

• Taking patient histories
• Assisting in exams
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Injection and medication administration
• Gentle patient restraint
• Pharmacy duties
• Blood draws
• IVC placement
• Outpatient procedures
• General hospital cleaning
• Client service and communication
• Assisting the front desk as needed

Full-time benefits and compensation:

• Compensation: $23.00 to $25.00/hour (based on experience)
