As a Primary Care Veterinary Assistant you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

•     Restraining animals

  •    TPR Animals as directed by technician

  •    Collect samples as directed by a technician

  •    Under the direct supervision of technician run lab work

  •    Help Technicians with tech appointments

  •    Collect animals for treatments

  •    Assist with radiographs and ultrasounds

  •    Walk animals

  •    Clean work stations after treatments

  •    Clean sinks and wet tables daily

  •    Clean slides and fecal loops

   

  Surgical Prep

  •    Helping Technician induct patients for surgery

  •    Setting up surgery

  • Setting out gowns
  • Setting out gloves
  • Setting out surgery cap
  • Setting out surgery masks

  •    Sterilization

  • Surgery packs
  • Surgery gowns
  • Miscellaneous surgical equipment
  • Dental equipment
  • Cold pack
  • Syringes
  • Drapes
  • Huck Towels
  • Gauze
  • Syringes

  •    Surgery laundry

  o        Washing & Drying

  o        Sticker rolling (removing hair/lint)

  o        Folding

  o       Sterilizing

  Assisting Doctors

  •    Restrain animals

  •    Help with treatment as directed

  •    Clean area of use after each treatment

  Assisting Animal Caretakers

  •    Assisting and releasing animals when busy

  •    Laundry

  •    Cleaning treatment room cages when needed

  •    Check in boarders

Our Ideal Candidate

• Strong work ethic
• Self-motivated
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment 
• 1+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Animal husbandry
