As one of the largest private group practices in the US, BBS is looking for a Verifications & Authorizations Specialistto join our Phoenix (Hybrid Remote) team!
In general, the Verifications & Authorizations Specialistwill:
- Complete patient demographics.
- Verify Assignment of Benefits.
- Detail notes of insurance requirements in “appointment notes” section of computer system.
- Verify primary, secondary and tertiary insurance.
- Verify Inpatient Hospital/Physician Benefits.
- Verify and obtain prior authorization for Pain Management, Physical Therapy and DME services.
- Review Office Schedules daily for patients requiring authorizations, referrals and insurance verification.
- Inform the physicians and staff when a Peer to Peer is requested for treatment and/or service is denied.
- Verify pending office schedules.
- Handle Stat verification requests from all departments as needed.
- Set up new insurance information when necessary on patient’s accounts.
- Research incorrect insurance information and make corrections in system when needed.
- Play a lead role in ensuring BBS remains within federal and state regulatory compliance
- Help create an extraordinary patient experience!
Requirements:
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding required.
- Authorization Experience required
- Medical background required
