Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Vascular Access Registered Nurse for our hospital to ensure that we deliver exceptional care to our patients. • As a member of our nursing team, you will Functions as a Registered Nurse by role - modeling professional behavior.
• You will be responsible for inserting Midlines, Ultrasound Guided PIV's, & PICC's.
• You will assure satisfaction of customers (patients, visitors, physicians and staff).
• You will assist Quality and Infection Prevention with reduction in CLABSI rates through monitoring and downgrading appropriate CVC's
• Troubleshoot obstructed central lines, administer Cathflo when necessary
• Provide education to staff about safe, appropriate line maintenance and care
• Demonstrate early and appropriate assessment of patients requiring peripheral access
• Determine the most appropriate access device for prescribed therapy ordered 

What qualifications you will need:

• Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program is required.
• BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing is preferred.
• Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or current multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in VA is required.
• 1 year of experience in IV Therapy and Vascular Access Management is required.
• 2-5 years of experience in IV Therapy and Vascular Access Management is preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
• PICC Certification is preferred.

Hours:

• Day shift (12-hour shifts) with rotating weekends
