Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Value Stream Manager, Warehouse & Operations Analytics to join the Kenall Team in Kenosha, WI.

The Value Stream Manager (VSM) – Warehouse and Operations Analytics, plans and directs the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with delivery timelines, cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Helps establish plant policies and procedures. Responsible for warehouse and plant production goals from Track 4 and Paint. This manager is responsible for plant safety, daily field tours and Tier 3 board. The overall objective is the safe, efficient, and effective use of labor, material, tooling, machinery, and facilities in meeting customer requirements as directed by production schedules while maintaining product quality at a high level. A mutually cooperative working relationship with executives, supervisors, managers, coworkers, and customers is critical to the overall success of the manufacturing operations and the company.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Participate on Safety Committee and ensure that plant operations are consistent with safety standards, policies, practices, and procedures. Guarantees that all employees are trained in safe work habits, awareness, and compliance with federal, state and company safety rules. Monitor and enforce compliance.

· Establish departmental safety and ergonomic goals. Ensure that monthly Safety Talk meetings are held, and documentation completed. Follow-up with Supervisors to guarantee timely completion of safety issues.

· Direct and coordinate Warehouse, Track 4, Paint and plant safety within company policies and procedures.

· Supports and participates in Legrand Way (LW) daily Tier 3 field tours, daily production meetings (DPM), and completing assigned LW actions.

· Directs the activities of the supervisors ensuring proper carryover of production activities and requirements with an emphasis on product quality, service level, and factory production efficiency for all shifts.

· Is a mentor to the supervisors to develop their managerial, and technical skills so that the supervisors can successfully manage their respective employees.

· Working with VSM’s and Planners, determine proper staffing level to work within established labor budgets.

· Drives a cross training program to rotate employees in all Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving, Track 4, and Paint functions and for assistance to other departments to control labor and remove bottlenecks in production.

· Sets the direction relative to manufacturing goals to meet production and customer needs and expectations with the Director, Supply Chain and Logistics and the OPS VP.

· Identifies and communicates information to correct factory discipline relative to product quality and defect prevention, product disposition, and rework and/or repair activity.

· Monitor Shipping and Receiving function to improve service level including minimizing shipping damage or shipping and receiving errors.

· Ensure a work environment exists for employees that provide effective communication between all shift team members to effectively communicate concerns regarding production using department production white boards.

· Supports all ISO initiatives for compliance. Enforces use of departmental control plans and JHA’s.

· Execute performance reviews for supervisors.

· Excellent attendance with the willingness and ability to manage operations on weekends when necessary.

· Ability and willingness to understand all aspects of SMT machine operations and Assembly line equipment.

· Coordinate and approve supervisor Paid Time Off (PTO) and payroll records.

· Supports any Kenall sustainability initiatives.

· Recommend improved methods, equipment, procedures, and systems to increase efficiency, quality, and good housekeeping practices.

· Active participation in ongoing individual training and development program.

· Maintain an active continuous improvement program and measure its effectiveness.

· Modify production schedule as required by process changes or other factors.

· Recognize and solve problems affecting production including schedules, staff, quality, and order of production line.

· Ensures that plant assets are properly managed and safeguarded.

· Assist in developing and monitor department budgets and capital expenditure recommendations.

· Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.

· Staffs, develops, and coaches direct reports, evaluates performance, and initiates corrective action as required.

· In conjunction with Human Resources, review, and update job descriptions when appropriate, at a minimum of once per year.

· Other duties as assigned.

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Active participation in ongoing individual training / development program.

· Set goals and objectives with Manager; look for ways to improve quality and productivity.

· Maintain good housekeeping conditions in work area.

· Report abnormalities in equipment, machines, programs, and processes.

· Perform backup functions to other team members and Manager as instructed. Engage in cross-training to support back-up efforts as directed. Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent (equivalency is defined as four years as a Production Manager for non-degree individuals).

· 5+ years experience directing plant operations in a manufacturing environment.

· Demonstrated ability to understand and use financial reports as a management tool.

· Track record of successful project management, dedication to continuous improvement, and team experience.

· Must have experience in material flows and inventory management; continuous improvement practices; and process analysis.

· Management style and duties must be consistent with and the company’s vision and principles.

· Strong written and verbal English communication skills as required to discuss training, general direction, and other position-related tasks. Bi-lingual a plus.

· Demonstrated ability to display strong customer service skills.

· Must be professional in appearance and attitude and possess the ability to work in a professional manner with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels.

· Computer literate including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

· High level of self-initiative and dependability.

· Must be flexible to perform overtime duties or adjust schedule when required.

· Must be flexible and willing to pitch in as needed.

· Resourceful and highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.

· Ability to work within a team environment.

· Must possess positive, "can do" attitude.
