Position Summary:
Answer telephones, greet, assists, and directs visitors, patients and other clinic office callers. Guides, screens, and registers new patients. Assists participants with their badges, ensures accurate monitoring of participants' attendance. Daily data entry to ensure appropriate records of participants and staff attendance. Perform clerical duties to support the daily business activities of the location. Responsible for providing excellent customer service. Always ensure participants 'safety.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Greets people upon arrival answers telephones, routes callers, provides information to
visitors, staff and participants.
- Schedules appointments in person.
- Retrieves patient's registration information and confirms and verifies patient's information.
- Responsible for keeping track of participants' daily attendance and monitoring transportation services.
- Performs registration of all participants' assessments and tracking of new intakes.
- Answers inquiries, assists enrollees/patients to utilize health care delivery system.
- Obtains, records, and analyzes financial information.
- Renders accurate and timely data entry of all program eligibility and registration information.
- Request medical records for patients that come in without an appointment.
- Aids, guidance and direction to visitors and patients. Calls for an escort when necessary.
- Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Responsible for incoming and outgoing interoffice and regular mail
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality.
- assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements
Education Required (Minimum level of education):
- High School or equivalent.
Certifications/Licenses Required:
- CA Driver's License preferred.
Experience Preferred:
- One-year receptionist in medical setting (optional).
Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Verbal ability for accurate and tactful explanation. Excellent Computer skills.
Equipment Used:
- Multi-extension phones; CRT/PC, Typewriter, and other office machines.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- May be required to lift approximately 25 lbs.
- Mostly sitting position.
- May be required to travel to other sites.
- May be required to work evenings and/or weekends.
- One year's experience working with frail, elderly population.
