Job description

The Role

The UX/UI Design Lead is responsible for contributing and leading the user experience team from concept to visualization and design initiatives. This role works closely with UX Strategy, product management, technology, and a broad range of business stakeholders. This role will provide creative leadership and contributions in planning, designing, testing, and advancing the user experience for our software products while partnering with other integrated businesses/products to align longer-term strategies.

The Responsibilities

  • Contribute to, Manage and Lead the UX/UI team to develop, evolve and maintain artifacts that support the execution of our work by helping define the intended interactions and conceptualizing the overall user experience (i.e. data visualizations, visual storytelling, user stories, feature lists, sitemaps, user flows, high quality mock-up/protype design/wireframes) 
  • Develop a UX/UI roadmap of functional and non-functional requirements that will inform the research and design work of the team.
  • Collaborate with product management, technology, UX strategist and business stakeholders to ensure we are delivering world-class digital and visual experiences.
  • Work with Technology leadership to ensure the team is executing the work on time and on budget.
  • Contribute and Lead teams in the development of artifacts that communicate optimal experiences that improve each interaction our clients have with their users (i.e. personas, digital visualizations, experience maps, service blueprints, and scenarios)
  • Create a UX/UI vision and strategy aligned with the product strategy, with a strong focus on UI Design, 
  • Advocate for the user and have a firm understanding of who they are, their goals and needs.
  • Drive collaboration across disciplines to create comprehensive and coordinated experience strategies.
  • Plan and lead collaborative multi-disciplinary workshops to identify opportunities to drive innovation that support user goals and needs.
  • Lead colleagues in co-creative environments to define, design and build digital products while adopting lean and agile approaches as appropriate.
  • Design all UX/UI design best practice, style guides, and processes, embedding these into the team

The Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in UX/UI Design and digital visualization
  • Big data and machine learning design experience
  • Proficient in using design tools for prototypes, design mockups, and/or wireframing.
  • A portfolio highlighting a breadth of UX/UI design work across web applications with clear end-to-end process (discovery > delivery) evident.
  • Good understanding of the principles of user centered design and problem solving
  • Experience in a Customer Experience or Service Design role. 
  • Proven ability to manage teams of 5 or more, including mentoring, leading and being able delegate responsibilities. 
  • Proven ability to lead and develop strong experiences for responsive/adaptive web applications.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop experiences for multi-channel interactions or the enhancement of client service offering through digital touchpoints.
  • Ability to consider, advocate, and implement designs with accessibility in mind.
  • Ability to function as a thought leader as well as an individual contributor.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and/or observing user research and developing insights and recommendations from findings.
  • Ability to articulate current trends in customer experience and service design thinking.
  • Degree in relevant field (graphic design, data visualization, HCI or UX design) or transferable experience.
  • Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles, methodologies, best practices, and approaches, particularly as applied to web-and mobile-based applications.
  • Commitment to constantly improve one’s skills, staying current with developments and trends in the industry, and providing team education and guidance.
  • Proven ability to think outside the box and develop creative solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation & communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of UX/UI design tools preferred, such as: Figma, Miro, User Testing software, Extensive HTML insight, Workflow systems

Compensation and Benefits (US)

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role.

Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role in the United States is 110,000 – 140,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus. Salaries in other countries may vary.
