We are looking for a motivated and proactive User Researcher to join our team. The user researcher will focus on understanding the needs, behaviors, and preferences of our participants to inform the design and development of our products and services. They will Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and product teams to understand project goals and define specific research objectives. They will also be responsible for developing research plans outlining the methods, timeline, and resources required for user studies. They will choose appropriate research methodologies, such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, or observational studies to understand our participants and present qualitative and quantitative data as well as clear and concise usability findings to the organization. The User Researcher role is critical in ensuring that products and services meet the needs of their intended users, resulting in a more satisfying and effective user experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and recruit individuals who represent the target user demographics for the research. Ensure a diverse and representative participant pool to capture a broad range of perspectives.
- Conduct interviews, usability tests, surveys, and other research activities to collect qualitative and quantitative data. Observe and analyze user behavior, attitudes, and interactions with products or prototypes.
- Analyze research data to identify patterns, trends, and insights. Use qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to derive meaningful conclusions.
- Create user personas based on research findings to represent different user segments.
- Present research findings to cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and designers. Clearly communicate insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.
- Facilitate usability testing and iterative design sessions to refine prototypes or products based on user feedback.
- Work closely with design and development teams to ensure user insights are integrated into the design process.
- Act as the voice of the user within the organization, advocating for user-centered design principles. Ensure that user needs, and feedback are prioritized in the decision-making process.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in user research methodologies and tools. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance research practices.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate research findings into actionable design recommendations. Collaborate throughout the design process to create user-friendly and intuitive solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Social Science, Design Research, Psychology, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- At least 4 years’ experience conducting UX research for digital design organizations or related field.
- Executing research that aligns with company strategy.
- Experience in Lean UX research methods and tools to conduct those methods.
- Experience with testing on mobile and desktop platforms on various operating systems.
- Experience with recruiting, running, moderating and analysis of online panels and strategic thinking about their application.
- Strong understanding of design heuristics.
- Ability to tell clear stories with data.
- Strong knowledge of wide variety of research methods and what knowledge will yield from method.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proven ability to tell complex stories across various levels.
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, including the ability to lead conversations to derive questions from cross-functional partners and customers.
- Ability to prioritize among ambiguity; manage multiple projects of varying scale and adjust to shifting timelines.
- Superb project management skills.
- Basic understanding of stages of project life cycles.
