Ux Designer - Lead

Nuveen is seeking an experience UX Designer to lead our design efforts in creating innovative, user-friendly products. As a key member of the Product Technology team, the ideal candidate will have a passion for understanding our users and crafting exceptional user experiences that meet both user needs and business goals. As a Senior UX Designer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including UI designers, developers, and product managers, to deliver intuitive and engaging products.
This is a hands-on role who will be providing guidance to developers, provide oversight to the design process, from research and ideation to creative conceptualization and design. This is a Hybrid-flex position located in our Iselin, NJ, or New York City office.
Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead the UX design process from research through to execution, ensuring a user-centered design.
• Conduct analysis with stakeholders, direct usability testing to gather insights and inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and user experience.
• Create wireframes, representing user flows, and process flows, to effectively communicate user journeys and design ideas.
• Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive-level stakeholders.
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
• Mentor junior UX designers and foster a collaborative design culture.
• Stay current with the latest UX trends, techniques, and technologies.
• Conduct usability testing to improve the user experience of products including websites and applications.

Qualifications:
Required:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in User Interface design; possess an online portfolio or samples of work on a resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience using design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax. Proficient with design and prototyping tools, such as Sketch and/or Figma.

Preferred:

• Experience in Agile/Scrum development process.
• Experience creating responsive web layouts.
• Comfortable working with a variety of business stakeholders and delivering outcomes.
• Familiarity working an established design system.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and writing code.
• Familiarity with product development from inception to release.
• Possess excellent communication skills.
• Ability to establish strong working relationships.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements in a dynamic work environment.

Base Pay Range: $128,900/yr. - $210,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
