Assistant Manager/Barista Trainer

We're currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to fill the role of Assistant Manager/Barista Trainer. This exciting position offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our coffee shop while helping to develop the skills of our barista team.

Position: Assistant Manager/Barista Trainer

Hours: Full-time (30-40 hours per week)
Wage range: $23-25/hr depending on shops and experience, plus tips*

Responsibilities:

• Work as a floor manager for two or more assigned stores, performing any/all of normal scheduled shifts (e.g., opens, closes, mids/food, cleanings, deliveries, etc.)

• Assist the Multi-Store Manager in daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and staff supervision and management.
• Serve as a role model for the barista team, demonstrating excellence in customer service, drink preparation, and product knowledge.
• Train new baristas on company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent quality and service.
• Provide ongoing coaching and support to barista staff to help them improve their skills and achieve their goals.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to promote professional growth and development.
• Collaborate with the Multi-Store Manager to create and implement training programs and initiatives to enhance the overall performance of the barista team.
• Assist in scheduling staff and managing labor costs to meet business needs while maintaining high levels of customer service.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the cafe according to health and safety standards.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with projects,special events and promotions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the hospitality industry, preferably in a coffee shop or similar environment.
• Strong passion for specialty coffee and a desire to share that passion with others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train effectively and mentor team members.
• Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming techniques, and latte art is preferred.

• Driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles.

• Certification as a barista trainer or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
