Job Description
I. General Purpose of the Job
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for general kitchen sanitation and washing of pots and dishes in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the head cook, team leader and/or Director of Dining Services to assure that quality service is provided at all times.
- No late nights, off by 8 pm latest.
- Must be able to work on weekend(s), with the option of alternating weekends off available!
- Starting Rate is $16.28, with potential for raise in 6 months.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Set up dishmachine.
• Fill pot sinks.
• Wash dishes, glasses, and silver.
• Wash pots and pans.
• Maintain areas in a clean-as-you-go condition.
• Check trash cans continuously and remove to designated containers.
• Remove and bus cafeteria dish racks.
• Keep dish and pot areas orderly and clean.
• Return clean dishes and pots to proper storage areas.
• Deliver and pick up room service trays.
• Sort silverware frequently.
• Sweep and mop all floors in the kitchen, coffee shop and service center.
• Break down dishmachine and clean.
• Clean and organize pot sinks.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assist with unloading supplies and equipment and putting them in the stockroom.
