Utility Worker - Blast/Deburr

Join us as a Utility Worker – Blast/Deburr Operator in our Kansas City, KS Facility.

In this position you will operate abrasive and laser blast equipment, prepare components and assemblies for painting, clean components and assemblies by blasting. Paint equipment and prepare material for shipment for both service parts and pumps requiring Holiday Test. Set up and operate balance machines and deburr and file impellers and other machined parts.

Location Description:

Pentair’s Kansas City business is leading manufacturer of custom and engineered to order pumps for commercial, fire, industrial and infrastructure markets for both water and wastewater applications. Pumps include, vertical turbine and vertical turbine fire, solids handling and submersible solids handling, vertical turbine solids handling, propeller, vortex and ANSI pumps. Not climate controlled.

• Pay: $26.81/hr. in first 6 months, $27.81/ hr. after 6 months, $28.81/hr. final rate (after full year)

More details about the opportunity:

• Receive material to be abrasive/laser blasted and/or prepared for painting, transported, stocked, dispensed, painted and prepared for shipment. Complete work orders.
• Perform a variety of machining and grinding operations on an assortment of component pump parts. This includes deburring and cleaning off machine parts, static and dynamic balancing impellers, assembling wear rings and balance vanes to predetermined specifications.
• Apply paint to pumps, component parts, equipment structures and machinery with spray can, paint brush, rollers, etc. as directed for pumps requiring Holiday Testing. Place waste paint and solvents into proper containers. Complete work orders.
• Abrasive/laser blast parts and equipment, Holiday Test Prep, file impellers, operate coating line equipment as directed.
• Perform operations such as receive material, check for damage, quality, conformance to purchase order, and prepare receiving report.

Position Hours/Shift:

• 1st Shift 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday
• 2nd Shift 3:30pm – 12:00am Monday – Friday

Physical Requirements:

• Must have previous experience with industrial / automotive.
• Must be able to wear full body PPE and respirator.
• Must be able to operate mobile equipment as directed.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
