Utility Technician - Perdue Feedmill

Perdue Feedmill is seeking an energetic individual to join our team as Utility Technician. This position is day shift 6:30 am-4 pm, Monday through Friday.

The Utility Technician is tasked with performing quality control on the incoming ingredients and feed manufactured to the standards outlined in Perdue's Quality Control Program.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Follow and implement all standard operating procedures of the Perdue Feed Mill quality control program.
• Perform quality checks and inventory control throughout the Feed Mill. Use different computer programs for data entry.
• Be an effective communicator with all departments within the Feed Mill, live production departments and corporate officials.
• Cross train in related areas to assist when associates are out of work.
• Must be self motivated to stay busy even when not under close supervisor.
• All other tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer in the past 3 years.
• Two or more years of feed mill manufacturing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to perform basic math functions to create accurate reports and maintain inventory levels

Preferred:

• Two years prior feedmill experience.
• Proficient use of computer and multitasking in multiple programs. Experience working with Quality Control is preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

• Position is exposed to environmental temperatures to include extreme cold, heat and humidity.
• Work is in a dusty and odorous environment associated with feed mill manufacturing.
• Must be able to navigate uneven terrain.
• Must be able to climb steps and ladders.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Must wear all personal protective equipment as required by safety programs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
