The Generation Safety Team is looking for their next teammate who is ready to contribute to our growing team and provide a full range of safety and health support at an industrial power generation site. We have an outstanding opening for a Utility Safety Specialist that understands how to positively engage with all levels of employees at our site in Marble Falls, Texas. You will be trusted to:
- Provide safety consultation and serve as a safety and health resource for LCRA staff in Generation.
- Assist with incident investigations, tracking, and reporting.
- Schedule and assist with conducting safety orientations, safety training, health training and monthly / quarterly safety meetings.
- Assist with safety and health inspections and audits.
- Participate in the research, development, and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Assist staff with project support related to health and safety issues. Prepare health and safety plans for LCRA projects.
- May coordinate medical monitoring activities and schedule employees for testing.
- Provide daily on-site safety support with a strong interpersonal skills to engage with people.
- Travel to other sites occasionally to engage with partners and support other Generation operations.
You qualify with:
- Four or more years of experience in energy generation, electric utility transmission and distribution operations or relevant experience.
- Experience must include one year of experience with OSHA 1910.269 Electric Power Generation, Transmission, and Distribution and applicable electric utility work practices and safety policies.
- A degree(s) in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license

- A degree in Occupational Safety & Health or similar.
- Certification in the field of Safety & Health such as the ASP or OHST.
- Experience in at least one of the following fields: power generation, oil & gas, chemical processing, or manufacturing.
