Job description

Consultant Engineering, Inc. (CEI) is the largest, locally owned consulting engineering and construction management firm in Arizona. We provide quality services to clients throughout the Southwest. Utility Plan Reviewerneeded for full time position, examining and evaluating plans related to utility infrastructure, such as water, sewer, gas, and electrical systems. The primary goal of this role is to ensure that proposed Utility Plans comply with local regulations, codes, and standards.


Job Requirements
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that Utility Plans adhere to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. This may include zoning codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.

  • Code Adherence: Review plans to ensure they meet the specific codes and standards governing utility infrastructure. This includes codes related to construction, materials, and safety.

  • Technical Evaluation: Assess the technical aspects of Utility Plans, including the design, layout, and specifications. Verify that the plans are technically sound and feasible.

  • Coordination with Other Departments: Collaborate with various departments such as engineering, planning, and environmental services to ensure that Utility Plans align with overall development and infrastructure goals.

  • Communication: Communicate with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide feedback on proposed Utility Plans. Address any issues or concerns and work towards resolution.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of plan reviews, comments, and approvals. Document any deviations from regulations or codes and provide recommendations for corrections.

  • Field Inspections: Conduct field inspections as needed to verify that the constructed utility infrastructure matches the approved plans and meets all necessary standards.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to Utility Plans, collaborating with other professionals and stakeholders to find practical solutions.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about updates to codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Attend training sessions or workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
