Position Summary
The User Experience/Technology Outreach Coordinator will lead the collaborative development and delivery of library outreach tools, specifically Springshare, as well as other digital tools, such as Google Analytics. The incumbent will advocate for an exceptional User Experience on all platforms across the Libraries' digital services and resources for the campus community, and coordinate activities to assess digital trends and the needs of a broad user community. In addition, the coordinator will act as the library's accessibility coordinator, which entails working directly with users to understand and fulfill accommodation needs; representing the libraries in campus and consortia initiatives; and helping to ensure that accessibility factors are incorporated into library systems and planning.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Advocates for an exceptional User Experience on all platforms across all the Libraries' digital services and resources for our user community and coordinate a range of activities to assess the digital behaviors and needs of a broad user community.
  • Organizes assessment protocols for digital tools, electronic resources, subscriptions, memberships, etc.
  • Works as the administrator for the Libraries' Springshare account; troubleshoot issues, provide training to staff on new features; demonstrate the use of platforms across departments.
  • Works with acquisitions on creating protocols for accessibility reviews of potential products and acquisitions.
  • Works with data services on UX for data and related products; works with communications on web design and interface.
  • Serves as a point of contact for patron accessibility issues and work with University working groups and/or the EIT accessibility coordinator to resolve or develop necessary accommodations.
  • Collaborates with library departments to create a library accessibility policy and implement changes.
  • Provides or coordinates training and support to other staff, in the areas of accessibility
  • Engages in professional communities and learning opportunities that sustain the current knowledge base and expertise relevant to the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in academic libraries and knowledge of assessment tools in academic libraries.
  • Experience with program evaluation and statistical analysis.
  • Experience in data management and/or knowledge management.
  • Strong information management and organizational skills.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Public Service Skills.
  • Experience leading/managing programs or functions focused on assessment, metrics, program review and related activities.
  • Experience using Library systems.
  • Experience working in an academic setting or academic library.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and interpretation generally acquired through completion of a master's degree in a social sciences-related field. Specific training or coursework in assessment, research, and/or measurement.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and interpretation; knowledge of current technologies for data collection, manipulation, analysis, and reporting; skills in and experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including surveys, user interviews, focus groups, and usability testing methods.
  • Experience with Google Analytics.
  • Experience with Qualtrics or other online survey tools.
  • Experience with data visualization software, like Tableau.
  • Experience with Springshare platform as an administrator.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills; experience leading project teams; ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to present complicated information in easily comprehensible formats, e.g. data visualization, appropriate use of charts, etc.
  • Demonstrated skills and understanding of usability, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, faculty, and students.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to teach and train library personnel in data collection methodologies and techniques.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with statistical and qualitative analysis tools.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Experience organizing and scheduling work to meet deadlines and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree or advanced certificate in relevant field equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Two years of User Experience-related work - UX, interactive design, communications design, visual design, and/or information architecture-related role.

Salary Range
$57,300.00 - $97,700.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
