Your Talent & Gallo | A Perfect Pairing
Currently, E. &J. Gallo Winery is searching for a candidate to enter our 6-8 week Gallo Sales Internship Program. This program is designed to provide an overview of the Wine & Spirits Sales organization through rotational job shadowing, training and various projects and tasks as they relate to assigned areas. This program offers talented individuals the opportunity to engage in various parts of the business, interact with management, develop innovative solutions to real business challenges, and cultivate the next generation of leaders.
What You Will Do
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Essential Functions
The program is comprised of the following commercial rotational assignments:
  • Distributor Retail Sales:
    • Shadows Field Sales Representatives to gain an understanding of retail sales. This includes observing selling techniques, merchandising, retail store environment, management techniques, and technical equipment. Other job shadows: District Sales Manager, and Area Sales Manager.
  • Sales Management:
    • Learn how to prepare for new items launches, GSMs, surveys, mid-months, and competitive pricing analysis. Job shadows Market Development Manager, Business Development Manager, and Business Intelligence Manager.
  • Customer Relationship:
    • Gain insights into Gallo's different sales strategies to engage customers, including commerce marketing, customer development, and category development.
  • Additional Sales Channels:
    • Works with various managers from other business channels to learn about Spirits, Fine Wine, DRIVE, Sales Planning, Go-To-Market Strategy, Direct to Consumer, and Sales Technology.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for completing the assigned project(s) and presenting findings and results to management.
    • Responsible for managing a small account list - merchandising and building retailer relationships.
    • Works with Sales Management to prepare project presentations.

  • Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor's degree; OR have obtained a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to have a car or personal transportation to access multi-store locations within assigned area.
  • Required to be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Required to lift and move up to 45-57 pound case of product.
  • Required to travel up to 40% of the time to perform job duties.

Min Quals Standard
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Compensation:
  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $21.50 - $22.50 / hourly
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

  • In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses and incentive plans, as applicable.
