Job Description
- Operate equipment to include inserters, enclosures, and mail sorters and strapping machines and other miscellaneous equipment.
- Follow system/equipment processing schedules and work within vendor representatives to expedite maintenance/service requirements in order for systems/equipment to be available and reliable during production.
- Identify supplies and materials required to insert, enclose, sort, stage, and mail payment.
- Perform quality control measures affecting the availability and reliability of inserting and enclosing systems.
- If payment requirements authorize two inserts, initiate the electronic insertion or enclosure of the information document into the envelope from inserter 2.
- Utilizing visual marks from the inserting or enclosing systems, place checks into a new labeled tray, as needed.
- Evaluate finished products to verify the proper placement of the check and any inserts in the envelope.
- Perform sleeving, banding and sorting processes to facilitate the mailing of paper check payments, as required.
- Operate manual and automated banding equipment used to strap trays of checks.
- Stage sorted mail for transporting to Mail Processing Centers around the world.
- Investigate, isolate, and resolve problems involving/affecting checks managed by the Center, including unclear addresses, inaccurate insertions, erroneous pay dates, and/or discrepancies between systems counts and payment data documents (e.g., production schedules, file maintenance errors, holds, blank checks, spoils, etc.).
- Other work duties as assigned by the branch manager.
