Job Description
A commercial tree company in Orange County, California seeking an Urban Forest Sales Manager. Seeking someone who can sell professional services to multifamily and commercial properties.
- Foster and build trusted relationships with new and existing clients, the company, and the community
- Participate and lead networking events, including lunch and learns, expos, and tree industry events
- Direct prospecting and lead generation
- Drive results and be comfortable meeting deadlines and sales objectives
- Partner with the Urban Forest Sales Arborists (UFA) and/or Specialists (UFS), preparing proposals & sending estimates
- Follow-up with clients on proposals, current jobs & account management activities
- Update new clients, properties & calendar events into proprietary software and Salesforce
- Prepare permit information & arborist reports (if certified) as needed
- Attend city meetings to obtain permits on approved proposals
- Identify local tree species and recommend treatment
- Lead sales support team to educate and consult with clients on pruning, trimming, shaping, reducing & tree removals
- Lead sales support team to educate and consult with clients on plant health care and general tree care
- Inventory and catalog trees
- Complete a walkthrough with the client before or after work has been completed to ensure client expectations are met/exceeded
- Identify chip drop locations and communicate them to the field
- Work closely with Operations Managers, Crew Leaders, Climbers, Grounds Persons and Client Success Project Coordinators to ensure a job well done and client satisfaction
- Assist with any marketing campaigns & distributing marketing materials
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with clients in the commercial and residential market segments; research and identify potential business opportunities in existing and emerging territories and regions
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal resources to meet/exceed client expectations
- Keep current on industry best practices and trends
- Supply management with reports/results as requested
- Track projected approvals goals per month
- Set goals for sent, approved, PoG, and tree count
- Meet or exceed monthly sent, approved, PoG,
Qualifications
- Education and/or experience in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Environment Sciences, Biological Sciences, or equivalent preferred
- Proven track record in developing relationships focusing on superior client service, & establishing, maintaining, and growing a sales territory
- 5+ years of relevant Sales experience preferred
- ISA Certified Arborist credential holder or ability to obtain ISA Certification or an equivalent state license
- Hands-on knowledge and operational experience with tree and plant care preferred
- Exceptional ability to correctly and effectively diagnose and price various tree care treatments
- Ability to prepare and present proposals, either one-on-one or with small groups
- Experience managing large or complex accounts, such as municipal or condo associations, where there are multiple decision-makers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong listening skills and the ability to take high-quality notes from your conversations with clients
- Proficient and proven selling and negation skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with Salesforce
- Flexibility to adjust the schedule to meet changing demands from the Company and the client
- Ability to stand and/or sit for 8 + hours per day
- A valid driver’s license & clean driving record, meeting all Company requirements for driving
- Must be 21 years or older
Base salary: $60,000-85,000K + commission
