SALARY:
$45,300 - $56,600+ per year, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU's compensation plan. RVU's full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary PurposeThe Compliance & Quality Assurance Specialist provides administrative support and oversees quality management systems related to compliance and institutional effectiveness. Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Compliance, the incumbant will assist with pre-screening of IRB protocal applications, assist with Title IX compliance, serve as RVU's primary point person for state authorizations for clinical rotations and distance education, monitor employee and student compliance with required training, and provide support for program and institutional accreditation efforts. The Compliance & Quality Assurance Specialist embodies the University's core values of integrity, collegiality, compassion, diversity, equity, inclusion, excellence, service, and innovation, and is adept at engaging stakeholders as appropriate in compliance-related initiatives. This professional is conversant with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a higher education environment; s/he assists with tracking, preparation, and completion of regulatory filings, registrations, licensing, and compliance documents. With keen attention to detail and legislative requirements, the specialist ensures that documentation is complete, well-written, fulfills all requirements, has been approved by proper institutional officials, and is submitted properly in advance of federal, state, and local government deadlines. Performs a variety of administrative, technical and analytical duties of moderate complexity under general supervision.
Essential Job Functions- Prior to IRB review, screens assigned Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols to ensure compliance with human subjects protections under the Revised Common Rule.
- When proper subject protection is not explicit in an IRB protocol, consults with RVU's Senior Manager of Compliance to determine appropriate course of action.
- Earn and maintain current CITI certifications for human and animal subjects.
- Collaborates with personnel across the institution to ensure state authorizations are complete, reflective of the breadth of the University's educational endeavors, and are renewed in a timely manner for each of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia and U.S. territories.
- Confers with the V.P. of Institutional Effectiveness re: growth initiatives which may impact state authorizations.
- Earns and maintains Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Investigator certifications.
- Serves as primary Title IX investigator at the request of the Title IX Coordinator. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, extensive interviews, documentation, and reports.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining tracking, documentation, and reporting tools to document compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitors changes to existing legislation and new legislative developments to inform adaptations to RVU policies, processes, and practices.
- Proactively communicates with and informs the Senior Manager of Compliance of issues or concerns relating to compliance activities and procedures.
- Assist with student and employee training regarding compliance guidelines, requirements and standards.
- Compile and analyze both internal and external information as requested for audit and other compliance, risk, and/or accreditation purposes.
- Maintains currency on industry standards by continuing education, reading publications, talking with peers and joining professional groups.
- Helps build a culture that respects, values, and promotes diversity within an atmosphere of access, equity, and inclusion.
- Other duties as requested by the Senior Manager of Compliance or V.P. Institutional Effectiveness.

- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in public policy, educational administration, paralegal studies, risk management, or closely related field.
- 2 years' experience in regulatory compliance in a higher education environment including familiarity with Institutional Review Boards, state authorization, and Title IX.
