Position Title: Universal Banker

Department: Retail

Position Reports to: Branch Manager

Position Supervises: No Direct Reports

Position Summary:

A Universal Banker delivers an exceptional customer experience while proactively providing solutions, building relationships, and helping consumer and small business customers achieve their financial goals. As assigned, the Universal Banker supports both platform and frontline colleagues in driving sales, handling teller transactions, opening accounts, sell/cross sell brank products and services and resolve customer service issues. . Demonstrate and implement our Trusted Advisor strategy to all internal and external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides exceptional service by displaying knowledge and understanding of all retail products and services with proficiency in explaining, selling and administering products.
  • The UB will be responsible for opening accounts, consumer loans, home equity lines of credit and making referrals to business partners such as Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, Investment, etc.
  • The UB will be required to process all customer transactions by providing accurate, personable, prompt and efficient processing while also performing account maintenance.
  • Apply selling and profiling techniques to open, develop, and close sales, create product interest, actively cross sell products and actively pursue potential customers.
  • Drive proactive sales conversations through internal and outbound interactions with our defined Trusted Advisor Pathway including outbound calling, service to sales, teller interactions, appointment setting and effective lobby engagement.
  • Initiate conversations to uncover customer needs and be capable of effectively referring customers to business partners for selling and cross selling bank products.
  • Manage the customer experience by identifying opportunities to improve the customer's financial wellbeing
  • Maintain and balance cash drawer, vault, ATM and branch at close of day. Resolves and/or reports all cash differences.
  • Consistently execute activities and behaviors to meet established branch expectations.
  • Help to resolve customer concerns and escalating issues as needed
  • Perform lobby engagement activities to connect with customers and determine solutions to meet their needs
  • Educate customers on options for managing financial transactions by leveraging technology, tools and resources.
  • Consistently meet/exceed customer experience and individual/team production goals
  • Lead by example and partner with Manager(s) to help teller team provide excellent service and exceed daily referral goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Certification, License and Experience:

  • 2 years of banking experience

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet or exceed performance objectives
  • Experience fostering and developing strong relationships
  • Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and team members
  • Knowledge of CSR policies and procedures including various federal regulations including
  • Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act including accurate completion of CTR, Monetary Instrument log, and reporting of suspicious activities to supervisor.
  • Responsible for knowing and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies that include but are not limited to Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering rules, Right to Financial Privacy, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and other laws and regulations as they pertain to the position.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear, stand or sit for long periods of time, open filing cabinets, walk, stoop or bend, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and complete tasks requiring manual dexterity. Ability to drive a vehicle for travel is required for the position.
