About the role:
What's better than improving the lives of millions of kids? Join a passionate team teaching coding to millions of kids in over 50% of US Elementary Schools. Kodable is multi-platform Unity game with production deployments for Web and iOS. You'll be an integral part of a small, agile team building games that teach hundreds of thousands of kids a week the skills they'll need to succeed. The best part: this is a hands-on role. - Work directly with top-tier artists, game designers, and educators to build games that teach computer science to kids while *actually* being fun!
- You will have a hand in developing all parts of the Kodable game. Build and ship code that is immediately used by millions of kids.
- You'll work directly with the CEO and product team to make sure everything you do has an impact on Kodable's key metrics, revenue, and ultimately our future.
Who we’re looking for:
- You care deeply about early childhood education and training the next generation of programmers
- You have 3+ years of Unity development experience in a production environment (not including school)
- You have 3+ years experience building applications in with an actual programming language such as JavaScript, Python, etc.
- You have 1+ years working with C#
- You have released, or been a significant part of the public release of a game (doesn't need to be anything major, but ideally something that got a few thousand users)
Highly Preferable (but not required) if:
- You have 1+ years experience with 2d game development
- You have experience with networking and interfacing with server-side code (saving/loading data, offline syncing, etc)
- You have experience building and deploying multi-platform games (deploying to Web and iOS, for example)
Bonus Points if:
- You have experience with REST APIs (creating or consuming)
- You have experience with Firebase
- You have experience with game design
