Job Description Summary
The Unit Secretary processes physician orders, places data on patient charts, keeps an adequate amount of forms on the charts, and answers the phone. She/he is responsible for keeping needed items ordered for the unit through materials management. Reports to the Charge Nurse/Clinical Director. May function as a preceptor for (and thus be accountable for) orienting unit clerks. Responsible for demonstrating ethical and appropriate behavior. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care technologist (PCT) reports to the Clinical Director/Manager. Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, The CNA/PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.Entity

Additional Job Description
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Certified Nursing Assistant certification for the state of South Carolina preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) with American Heart Association (AHA) required.
