Underwriting Technician - Service Center of Excellence (Lake Mary)

The Underwriting Technician will support the Service Center of Excellence underwriting staff by processing insurance policy submissions as they are received from policy holders. This position exists to alleviate the administrative responsibilities of the underwriting staff and to ensure that submissions are moving forward in a timely manner.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Enters underwriting data into web-based system.

• Enters submission information in company’s proprietary web-based system to enable underwriter to quote business.
• Follows up with agents to obtain missing submission information using web-based system.
• Requests renewal information from agents and help prepare renewal for underwriter to quote.

Provides administrative and technical support to Underwriting staff and Supervisors.

• Handles agent/insured phone calls, faxes, and mail.
• Orders loss runs requested by agents and insureds and sends via fax, email, or mail.
• Prepares and mails claims kits and marketing materials requested by agents and insureds.

• Enters statistical data on a daily basis to ensure operational workflow.
• Responds to general inquiries concerning department activities in accordance with established policies and procedures. .

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate’s degree a plus.
• Minimum 1 – 3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Familiarity with administrative support practices desirable.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Data entry skills and the ability to learn enterprise and department specific applications.
• Basic Word and Excel knowledge.
• Ability to conduct basic research.

COMPENSATION

The hourly range listed for this position, $16.2420 to $25.6123, is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education. In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package outlined below.
