Job Description
The Underwriter is responsible for reviewing loan packages to ensure all aspects of the underwriting process has been properly completed and that it adheres to company policies and procedures. The Underwriter reviews the information on the loan application, contract and other documents to determine if the loan applicant meets the loan requirements before it's funded.
Other duties include, interacting with dealers, customers, field representatives, and a variety of other outside entities. The successful candidate provides a high level of customer service and promotes that culture through training, guidance and staff motivation. This position also acts as a liaison between dealers and customers.
Basic Responsibilities
- Review and verify the loan package
- Review credit reports, calculate income, examine book valuations
- Ensure stipulations and documentation are in order and valid before submitting the loan package for funding.
- Communicate with dealers and branch team.
- Develop and maintain strong customer service with customers and dealerships
- Understand and follow the policies and procedures in place
Skills & Qualifications
- Have some experience reading credit reports
- Attention to detail and work well in fast paced environment
- Have a positive attitude and be customer service oriented
- Organizational skills
- Ability to use office equipment
- High School Diploma required
