Funko is a purveyor of pop culture, making and selling license-focused collectibles. We’re based in Everett, WA where we have a store that delights kids of all ages (kids at heart included). We currently hold hundreds of licenses for franchises ranging from Marvel to Harry Potter, giving us the rights to create tens of thousands of characters—one of the largest portfolios in the pop culture and collectibles industry. We take your favorite characters and turn them into adorable, or sometimes scary, collectible figures. Our most famous line, Pop! Vinyl, has millions of fans around the world.
About the Role
We are looking for a User Interface & User Experience (UI/UX) Designer able to understand our business requirements and any technical limitations, as well as be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. The UX designer will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the product, and to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.
As a UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for creating low, medium, & high-fidelity interactive prototypes for the Funko Digital Platform’s eCommerce website and mobile app, using Figma, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Sketch, After Effects, and our UI design system. The prototypes are highly interactive, ranging from simple navigation interactions to complex micro-interactions. You will work collaboratively with other designers along with web developers, software engineers, domain experts, users, and executives.

• Rapidly build and iterate on polished, high-fidelity prototypes that express design intent, using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task
• Contribute to style guides and standards for all future prototypes
• Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
• Work as a UX designer within the AGILE SCRUM Framework
• Collaborates with team and stakeholders to create and design features for new initiatives from the ground up
• Builds new and unique application interactions based off of existing design frameworks.
• Creates assets for marketing product presentation
• Conducts usability assessments on existing and future features, and design creative solutions for known usability breakdowns
• Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
• Partner with development teams to ensure that interactive techniques and technologies translate through to shipping products and services
• Manage coded components and design elements of a front-end design system in terms of technology, versioning, and other requirements
• Be able to work creatively through and around perceived limitations and/or challenges imposed by delivery platforms to create delightful experiences for customers
• Collaborate with software developers, project managers, business analysts, software architects and IT professionals to deliver creative customer solutions
• Effectively communicate, self-manage, and complete assigned projects and project deliverables in a timely manner.
Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry
• 3 or more years of UI/UX design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.
• Expertise with a UI/UX prototyping tool required, such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Sketch, & After Effects.
• Must be a creative thinker with a vision and be able to adapt other ideas to your own to drive them to reality
• Extensive experience in using UI/UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
• Able to create complex interactive prototypes to express interactive design ideas based upon user and stakeholder input and feedback
• Experience with UX writing and microcopy
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and stakeholders.
• Proven communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
• Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
• Empathy in problem-solving
• Humility to operate as if our assumptions are often wrong and use design experiments to find the truth
• Curiosity to probe for more details, ask clarifying questions, and, most importantly, to make the unknown known
• Easily coachable in an ever-adapting environment
• Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and principals of responsive design and modern software development workflow, and JavaScript skills are a plus
• Experience working in a Scrum Agile process (JIRA, Confluence experience a plus)
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $90,000-110,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
