Rate of Pay for Assistant Cook Substitute: $16.94/hr
Rate of Pay for Cook Substitute: $20.38/hr

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Washington State Food Handler's Permit; valid Washington State I.D. State/FBI background clearance required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates daily kitchen activities as a team member
- Prepares and serves school lunches in accordance with U.S.D.A., State of Washington, and Tumwater School District Standards
- Checks food received for quality and quantity
- Stores foods, properly maintaining neat and orderly storeroom and refrigeration areas
- Prepares and serves meals
- Records meals served
- Receives and records daily cash receipts
- Cleans and secures the kitchen
- Must be willing to work the hours assigned by supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, working shifts as required
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to work on a computer and record student meals
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated cooking, baking and pantry skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of U.S.D.A. School Lunch Program
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen tools and machinery
- Ability to bend and lift on a continual basis
- Ability to direct and supervise students in basic food preparation and service
- Ability to maintain facilities to district requirements
- Maintain appropriate hygiene and personal appearance befitting a sanitary kitchen operator
