The Opportunity: Attention all passionate tumbling enthusiasts! The Park District is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented Tumbling Instructor to spearhead weekday Morning Classes for our cherished recreational tumbling program. As part of this role, you will have the rewarding responsibility of guiding parent/tot and preschool tumbling classes. We're seeking individuals with vibrant personalities and excellent interpersonal skills to connect with our diverse participants, aged 18 months to 5 years old. Join our team and be a part of something special! Reporting directly to the Recreation Supervisor, you'll find ample support in this dynamic position.
What you get: In exchange for your time and talent, this position pays $17.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on qualifications and includes a free fitness membership to 4500 Fitness.
When you’ll work: This position typically works weekday mornings from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, totaling around 10 to 15 hours per week, not to exceed 1,000 hours per calendar year. Your availability depends on class enrollment, but generally, you'll be needed on weekdays, Monday through Thursday.
A Day In the Life:
  • Create a thrilling and safe environment for participants following the established curriculum.
  • Lead engaging tumbling classes, incorporating creativity and new activities to keep sessions fresh.
  • Ensure all participants feel included and satisfied, fostering a positive atmosphere throughout the session.
  • Regularly update parents on their child's progress, providing excellent customer service internally and externally.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance sheets and equipment cleaning logs, for organizational purposes.
  • Promptly report any incidents or accidents to the Supervisor and complete necessary documentation.
  • Interact courteously and cooperatively with fellow staff members and the public throughout the day.
  • Adhere strictly to District and departmental policies, procedures, and ordinances to ensure safety for all participants and staff members.
About You:
  • 18-years of age or older
  • Gymnastics, cheerleading or tumbling experience preferred but not required.
  • Able to work independently and work well with children.
  • Understands the basic principles, practices, and rules related to assigned area of instruction.
  • Must be physically able to lift and spot various gymnastics skills.
  • Will train the right candidate.
  • First Aid and CPR certified within 90 days (District provided).
