JOB PURPOSE

Scrapes out, washes and disinfects trucks and trailers according to company processes and procedures.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scrapes or blows out manure and woodchips from trailers
  • Washes and disinfects equipment according to company guidelines
  • Occasionally, unloads woodchips from van trailers
  • Capable of operating bobcat to clean loose woodchips out of the basket, scrape out, unload new wood chips from van trailer or clean mud pits
  • Reports any discrepancies in Truck Wash equipment or personal protective equipment to Truck Wash crew leader.
  • Maintains a clean work environment

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence preferred.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend a portion of his time outside, at times in inclement conditions and frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
