Truck Driver - Showagon
Under supervision, drives a truck and assists support personnel of the truck in the performance of work for which the truck is operated. Keeps daily written records as required by division; Must have a knowledge of the streets of Cleveland; Operates all motorized equipment and/or vehicles assigned to the Division of Park Maintenance and Properties; Assists, to the extent possible, in other ground maintenance functions; Operates the truck mechanism for loading, unloading and compacting; Drives a dump truck, manual or automatic shift, with hydraulic lifts and compressing operations; responsible for the normal preventative maintenance of his/her assigned vehicle such as, but not limited to, checking oil, checking tires, checking water, checking fuel and fuel lights. Performs other related duties as assigned. Follows all operations and safety policies and safe work practices. Attends and participates in operations and safety training classes and demonstrates competence (demonstration of competence may be determined by exam). Wears and properly utilizes safety equipment in accordance with Divisional policy at all times.A High School Diploma or GED is required. A valid State of Ohio Class A or B Commercial Driver's License is required. Must have a good driving record. Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather. Must be a City of Cleveland Seasonal Snow Removal Vehicle Operator. The following requirements are specific to particular hiring departments. Airbrake and Trailer endorsements are required. Four years of full-time paid experience operating a Waste collection vehicle or straight truck is required.
Examples of work:- Picking-up and dropping off tractor / trailer unit at a designated location
- Performs general driver maintenance of the unit. Including but not limited to, fueling, visual inspections, and reporting
- Acts as liaison to the garage for repairs and maintenance
- Performs set-up, leveling, and break down of prior to and after each performance (Stage, Roof, Stairs, Ramps, Lighting, etc.)
- Work closely with Stagehand to set-up, breakdown, and properly store all equipment housed on the trailer, including but not limited to; chairs, tables, stairs, props, generator, ramps, and fuel canister.
- Responsible for the proper set-up, fueling, operation, and storage of mobile generator
- Communicates daily with Cultural Arts Manager, and Assistant Manager of Showagon

- Ability to safely and effectively navigate surface streets and highways throughout the City of Cleveland
- Flexible, start and end times may vary on a day-to-day basis
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical needs of the unit and/or generator
Physical Requirements:- Ability to pick-up and move up to 50lbs at a time
