Job Description
- Drives truck with capacity of 3 tons or more to transport materials to and from specified destinations by performing the following duties. This position may require overtime to include weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drives truck to destination.
- Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains telephone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Loads and unloads truck.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Ensures load is secure and safe for transit.
- Assures proper completion of paperwork and turns it in daily.
- Completes company truck log.
- Assists Shipping/Receiving Clerk as necessary. Receives backup support from another Truck Driver.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license, chauffeur’s license (or higher), and DOT card.
