Job description

Education:

Masters Degree in Social Work or a related field, at least two years of supervisory experience and four years of experience working with at risk children and families, preferably in the child welfare system.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be computer literate.

Valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside and proof of car insurance

Essential Job Functions:

Major highlights of the position requirements are noted below. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Be familiar with relevant licensing procedures and/or Program Standards of the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and the Council on Accreditation.

Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of evaluation procedures for truancy services.

Directly monitor and guide the activities of Truancy Case Managers via bi-weekly supervisory sessions, monthly team meetings and 24-hour crisis intervention availability.

Periodically meet with consumers of truancy services to evaluate service delivery.

Review and monitor case records monthly to assure compliance with standards.

Treat all family members, other service providers, including DHS, as primary consumers of the Program Manager/Supervisor's services by responding to complaints and/or concerns in a timely and supportive manner.

Participate in the recruitment, screening and hiring of program team members.

Develop and implement orientation and on-going training for truancy team members.

Complete or oversee written probationary and annual evaluations for program team members.

Recommend to the Managing Supervisor when termination of employment is appropriate.

Review and monitor the weekly schedules of truancy team members.

Approve vacation days, personal business days and other time off for program team members.

Provide direct services to families in accordance with program standards in the event of team member’s openings until the open position is filled.

Accept referrals and assign cases to Truancy Case Managers.

Review referral material with assigned worker.

Track all referral outcomes.

Assure continued family enrollment by acting on referrals as defined by program expectations.

Approve timecards for assigned truancy team members.

Approve advances and mileage reimbursement for assigned team members.

Represent the agency on select committees related to truancy and prevention services.

Attend conferences and workshops related to the provision of truancy services.

Serve on the Management Team of the agency.

Update agency census, as determined, to reflect program admissions and discharges.

Participate in crisis intervention, as needed.

Ensure case records contain all required documentation.

Participate in evaluations by external agencies.

Assist in the development of new and the revision of existing program policies and procedures.

Compile quarterly data and annual data for the truancy program.

Along with Truancy Managing Supervisor, guide the activities of direct care team members via meetings.

Assist with planning and implementation of monthly team meetings and trainings.

Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of evaluation procedures for programs and services which encompass the truancy programs.

Periodically meet with children/families and team members of the program to evaluate service delivery.

Participate, with Truancy Managing Supervisor, in evaluations by external agencies.

Salary: $60,000.00 - $64,000.00 per year
