The Traveling Funeral Director must adapt quickly and have a strong desire for new experience. In addition, this individual will exemplify the genuine compassion and dedication essential for providing exceptional service to those who experience the loss of a loved one.
What you’ll do:
- Provide coverage and support services with flexibility and immediate response as directed by management.
- Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner in keeping with company policies and procedures.
- Where applicable, provide aftercare, including delivery of documents, cards, and information on insurance, pre-arrangements for next of kin.
- Operate and maintain the crematory at certain locations, including repositioning and processing of cremated remains as per the Procedures Manual.
- Ensure adherence to all professional, state, and federal licensing authority, regulations, and rules applicable to funeral service.
Experience you need to bring:
- Accountability for serving families in a professional, compassionate, patient, and timely manner, you have a strong dedication in serving others.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with MS Office and social media (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)- yes, you’ll get social!
- Strong organizational skills
Educational Requirements:
- 2+ years of Funeral Director experience (includes embalming and arrangements).
- Degree from Accredited Mortuary Science Program plus additional college credits as required in the applicable state. Please note, MN applicants must have a Bachelors degree or equivalent credits.
- Successful completion of the National Board Examination
- Successful completion of the applicable State Board Examination
- Valid Funeral Director and/or Embalmer State Licensure
- Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurability
