The engineering Intern experience at Jacobs will provide engineering students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in innovative solutions. Interns will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides students invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment. A minimum of three work terms are required.
The candidate would be exposed to tasks specific to engineering and planning.
Typical work tasks include:
- Observe and collect field traffic data such as counts, signal timings etc.
- Analyze traffic data, summarize using charts and tables, and prepare briefings and reports.
- Perform engineering studies using software such as Synchro and VISSIM and other analysis tools
- Assemble data and conduct analysis using GIS.
- Support mid-level and senior staff members as needed.
- Candidate must be currently enrolled in at least their sophomore year working towards a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
- At least a 3.0 GPA is required.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Valid driver's license
