Summary:
Assist in the efficient, safe and timely transportation of products and equipment to the stores and return of salvage and backhauls to the Relay Facility along with the warehouse operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
* Assist in the efficient, timely, and safe delivery of all product commodities to the stores from the Relay Facility.
* Monitor delivery schedules concerning departure and arrival, and help ensure that those schedules are being followed.
* Communicate with stores on delivery concerns, problems or information about transportation and help take appropriate action to resolve any issues.
* Ensure that all truck drivers receive proper and timely communication.
* Ensure that all warehouse personnel receive proper and timely communication.
* Understand and communicate Department of Transportation regulations and ensure compliance with these regulations.
* Communicate with peers, lead persons, manager, and the Greensboro team on any problems, concerns, or other issues that need attention and provide follow up.
* Help ensure a clean, safe and well maintained work area for the transportation associates.
* Review transportation information including trip tickets, CADEC and CAMS reports, logs and other paperwork to help insure proper follow through on established procedures and guidelines.
* Review weekly transportation analysis, backhauls and fuel report.
* Communicate with the Manager on problems, concerns and progress.
* Maintain adequate and accurate records for planning and analysis.
* Communicate with warehouse operations on any changes, needs or concerns.
* Understand, communicate and help implement company policies, procedures and concepts.
* Practice effective associate relations. Be sensitive to the needs and concerns of associates. Treat them in a fair and consistent manner. Foster trust, respect, and integrity throughout the facility.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college and one year experience; or Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and two years experience; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 75-100 associates in the Dispatch/Warehouse and Driver groups. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be 18 years old
Must comply with company dress code requirements
Must be able to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.
Must be able to respond to emergency calls 24-7.
