  • Be able to professionally communicate with all staff levels of the organization/industry
  • Have a keen eye for detail
Desired Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated good knowledge of GIS applications and Microsoft Office programs
  • A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000 USD

Job Description
Mott MacDonald is seeking a creative, talented entry-level Transportation planner to join our Southern California transportation planning practice. Work would be based in our Los Angeles office and will support our exciting portfolio of transportation planning projects across California and the West Coast. The ideal candidate will possess a sound technical background in transportation planning and a solid working knowledge of Southern California transportation projects.
This is a unique opportunity to help deliver innovative transportation solutions for both public and private sector clients. Our team is on the cutting edge of this field, combining transportation planning, and land use planning to develop innovative methodologies to solve the planning problems of the coming decades. These issues will be multi-modal in nature, and the ideal candidate will have a strong interest in all transport modes including public transit (commuter rail, LRT, and BRT), parking, autos, for-hire vehicles (including TNCs), and non-motorized transportation.
In this role, your responsibilities would include:
  • Project development and definition studies including Alternatives Analyses
  • Regional and facility transportation planning access and multimodal studies and analysis
  • Feasibility studies for transportation demand management, and redevelopment programming
  • Assist in travel demand modeling, traffic impact studies, and parking analysis
  • Provide data analysis and GIS-related services to clients - both internal and external
  • Carry out research in the application of new technology in the transportation field
  • Assisted in public outreach efforts
