EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, document, and implement the Construction Utility Coordination program for the District. This involves identifying any utility issues that may arise during the project delivery process and scheduling the necessary support to address these issues. The aim is to increase construction efficiency by finding and implementing effective solutions. In addition to the above, this position also involves performing various duties related to the design, construction, and maintenance of roads, bridges, and other engineering projects. Acting as a project manager, the individual will oversee construction project supervisors and inspectors to ensure that contractors are completing their work in accordance with the established agreements. Another important aspect of this role is to review projects during the design phase in order to determine the level and timing of utility involvement during the construction phase. This involves conducting on-site utility reviews as the Construction Utility Coordinator for highway construction projects. As part of the responsibilities, the individual will also be responsible for tracking, reviewing, and verifying the progress of items listed in D-419 (Utility Clearance form) and D-4181 (Utility Questionnaire Relocation and Permit Application Instructions) for all projects that are currently in the construction phase. Any issues that arise during this process will be communicated to the project ACE and PM for resolution. Interested in learning more? In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown.
