Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor

In this position, you may act as Inspector-In-Charge, where you will be responsible for overseeing a highway construction project. This may involve supervising a limited range of work operations or assisting on a larger project by overseeing specific tasks. Your main duties will include inspecting materials and workmanship to ensure they meet contract requirements and established standards. You will also be responsible for verifying cuts and fills, checking elevation grades and structure stakeouts, and supervising the inspection and placement of materials. Additionally, you will interpret contract requirements to contractors and subordinates, provide instructions on sampling, testing, and inspection techniques, and assist in resolving any field problems that may arise. Lastly, you will be responsible for preparing reports and maintaining necessary records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) on an ad-hoc basis, subject to supervisor approval. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector; or
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
