Job Description
ATCS's Construction Services group is looking for a Senior Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team in Mechanicsburg! We are looking for Transportation Construction Inspectors and Transportation Construction Supervisors with PA construction inspection experience to join our team as we continue to expand our practice.
Key Role Requirements:
The Construction Inspector will monitor and inspect roadway and structure construction projects of routine to moderate complexity; ensure contractor compliance through review, interpretation and enforcement of plans and contract documents, monitoring and inspecting field work efficiently and in a timely manner; and preparation of thorough, accurate project documentation. The Inspector will compute daily pay quantities and prepare field adjustment estimates, inform project management of issues that arise in the field and assist in resolution as directed and contribute feedback to Project Manager for evaluations for all prime contractors and agreed-upon subcontractors. Additionally, this person will verify materials tests to assure all materials meet requirements, ensure work zones and other safety requirements and environmental permit requirements are met, and ensure that utility work is documented accurately through daily reports.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 to 10 years' experience in construction, civil engineering, project management, or materials inspection
- PennDOT experience
- Understand and interpret project plans
- Knowledgeable in PennDOT Road & Bridges specifications and standards
- Knowledge of mathematics to include algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
- Possession of relevant certifications, ACI Grade 1 Concrete Technician, PennDOT Concrete Technician and NECEPT Asphalt Technician Certifications
- Familiarity with documenting project site activities (PSA) in PennDOT’ Engineering and Construction Management System (ECMS)
- NICET Level 2-4 in Transportation & Highway Construction
- Valid Drivers’ License
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
