Position Summary
Supervise, plan and coordinate Transit driver route scheduling and operations within the Operations Division of the Transit Department; maintain records on daily driver routes; analyze and schedule personnel in order to meet transit needs; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, general public and provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Transit Manager.
This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business; and
Five (5) years of transit operator or transportation management experience; and
To include one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a valid City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge
- Operations, services and activities of driving program
- Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation
- Modern and complex principles and practices of operating bussing equipment including use of fare boxes
- Principles and procedures of record keeping
- Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations
