Part Time - 3 days a week
Position summary: Primarily responsible for transcribing medical records and reports and for the transmission of these records and reports to the physicians, the patient’s charts and/or other care facilities.
Role qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent with courses in English, Medical Terminology and typing.
Experience:
- On the job training or completion of an approved training program for medical transcriptionists. Knowledge of medical office setting a plus.
License/Certificate:
- Not required.
Position responsibilities:
- Operates transcription equipment to control the quality of voice reproduction and speed
- Follows specified procedures for the use of various forms and faxes particular reports.
- Follows specified procedures for transmitting finished reports to Electronic Medical Record and for faxing reports to designated persons or offices.
- Must follow HIPAA, Department of Health guidelines and Policy and Procedures as established by the hospital.
