KYM Advisors Inc, is seeking a Training Specialist to help our Federal client in facilitating and maturing a Data Analytics program within an Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO). An ideal candidate will have a strong understanding how data literacy is the underlying component of digital dexterity and have the ability and desire to use existing and emerging technology to drive better business outcomes. Candidate will have the ability to read, write and communicate data in context, including an understanding of data sources and constructs, analytical methods and techniques applied, and the ability to describe the use case, application and resulting value. Responsibilities:
- Assess the needs of an organization and assist in developing custom data analytics training programs that take place in classrooms and training facilities or electronically via computers, tablets, or other hand-held devices.
- Support the organization and delivery of training projects utilizing a variety of formats including lectures, group discussions, team exercises, hands-on examples, video, self-guided instructional manual, or online modules towards creating data-driven culture.
- Create training schedules; track and create reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records; coordinate connections of trainees with experts, mentors, and colleagues throughout the organization; monitor instructors, guide employees through training programs, and facilitate informal or collaborative learning programs.
- Review training materials from a variety of sources and choose appropriate materials for communications; design and create training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials as needed; assist with technical writing as needed.
- Assist in communicating training opportunities to the organization and provide information on benefits to encourage participation; recommend training materials and methods and promote in-house training opportunities.
- Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring resources, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment; develop and deliver meeting resources, preparation documents, facilitation guides, presentations, graphics, after action reports, and other materials.
- Develop, update, and maintain marketing materials for training initiatives. Gather information and develop clear, concise, and materials tailored to synchronize communications efforts and create a common understanding on training strategy to internal and external stakeholders; coordinate with graphic artists and web designers to provide visually appealing training products that are consistent with client branding.
- Review and analyze organizational documents to identify and provide recommendations to organizational leaders for use in developing clear, consistent, and unified messaging on training activities to stakeholders; assist in the evaluation of training programs and help to develop and/or improve them.
- Assist with the assessment of training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers or instructors; support clients in analyzing collected data to produce models and visualizations and to draw conclusions from that data to improve decision-making and demonstrate value.
- Gather and evaluate information from individuals on previous training to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional training.
- Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques as well as emerging data analytics training trends and use the knowledge to plan, prepare, and support future training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Training and Development, Human Resources, Education, Business, Organizational Psychology, Instructional Design, or other related discipline
- 5+ years’ experience, experience with creating marketing, training, and/or communications materials as part of or for public sector organizations
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Knowledge about traditional and modern training methods and techniques including learning management systems, instructional design, and e-learning platforms
- Excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented; ability to handle multiple projects at once
- This positions requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust with Homeland Security. The Public Trust requires U.S. Citizenship.
Desired
- Current DHS clearance or prior government agency security clearance strongly preferred
- Previous work experience as a Training Manager, Training Coordinator, Training Facilitator, Trainer or a similar role with a proven track record of supporting successful training programs preferred
- Proactive mindset, reliable, and organized; can effectively manage one’s own time among competing priorities preferred
- Federal government consulting and/or contracting experience preferred
- Experience in an environment training for BI & analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, etc.) nice-to-have
- Experience with graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Visio, and/or nice-to-have
- Consulting experience at large consulting firm (e.g. Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte, Accenture, Cap Gemini) nice-to-have
