Position Summary
An individual is responsible for managing the creation and deployment of all training material, procedures, and processes. They will work closely with APL Human Resources to help onboard new employees, ensure all APL associates are up to date with appropriate training material as well as the most up to date operational and commercial processes. This position is accountable to the entire APL organization and will ensure that all parts of the organization have the appropriate training resources. This person is also responsible for reaching out both internally and externally to ensure that APL has the most up to date and relevant training content and methods. This role will also work with commercial, operations and customer service to assist with problem root cause analysis of processes working with internal and external parties to identify progressive efficiencies. They will also ensure full alignment with CMA CGM Group training priorities, content, and processes.
Functions & Duties
Training
- Create and manage formal training programs across all APL company segments.
- Develop new training programs tailored to the experience level, aligned with APL and CMA CGM Group objectives.
- Build and maintain an APL training library for use at any time.
- Build and maintain instructional APL videos for use within APL and the larger CMA CGM group.
- Drive New Hire Onboarding program with all APL functions.
- Work with respective managers to deliver training and incorporate functional experts.
- Maintain continuity of training program across all APL functions.
Process Development & Enhancement
- Analyze current processes with key clients and internal stakeholders to identify process gaps and optimize effectiveness.
- Suggest and implement enhancements as required with the assistance of management.
- Collaborate with APL and CCA BPM (Business Process Management) team to resolve and implement improvement projects.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of standard processes, best practices, and work aids.
- Maintain and streamline communication and process standardization amongst APL US teams, CMA CGM US teams, HO and APL overseas offices.
LARA SKU
- Train Customer service, operations, sales, and trade teams, with the support on LARA skills, ensuring that all users have the appropriate knowledge for their role.
- Train Military Teams on the PAT / TEAMS application.
- Act as SKU for the APL organization
Miscellaneous Related Duties and Projects as assigned by management.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of CC Group systems (LARA, etc.)
- Advanced working knowledge of shipping industry.
- Advanced knowledge of import and export processes.
- Advanced knowledge of rates, invoicing, service contracts, boiler plate agreements, and tariffs.
- In depth understanding APL/CMA CGM Organizational processes and ownership of said processes.
- In depth understanding of APL/ CMA CGM network and key contacts
- Intermediate working knowledge Excel required, (i.e., data manipulation, filters, pivot tables)
- Strong written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills
- Advanced user of Office 365 suite, LARA, SharePoint,
- Strong presentation and organization skills
- Ability to work autonomously.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years of experience required and an associate or bachelor's degree with 4+ years' experience preferred.
