JOB OVERVIEW:
The Training Manager for Public Health Programs will report to the Director of Public Health Programs under the Managing Director of Strategy Development. This position will assist with the development and management of a Learning Management System (LMS). The Training Manager will work with various projects including but not limited to the Pennsylvania Public Health Association, the Delaware Public Health Institute, the Health Network, the Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network, the Public Health Infrastructure Grant Program (PHIG), and the Community Health Worker Training Program. The Training Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the LMS, supporting the Project Managers with users and content, and assisting in completing all reporting and documentation needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all aspects of the learning management system (LMS) to ensure efficient and effective registration, delivery of online education, user experience, and full utilization of the LMS vendor tool.
  • Utilize project management software such as MS Teams, Smartsheet, and Salesforce to assess and manage workplan activities, ensuring they meet targeted timelines.
  • Help develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and efficient utilization of online LMS.
  • Support Programs with the development, management, coordination, execution, tracking, and reporting of training deliverables.
  • Assist in creating instructor-led training, self-paced modules, videos, knowledge checks, surveys, and training resources within the (LMS).
  • Upload, publish, create, manage, test, and assign content within the LMS.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with the training site, content, and user base.
  • Coordinate and host internal meetings with PHMC's various projects regarding training needs.
  • Support program evaluation and technical assistance as needed.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and work with external experts to assess the instructional design of trainings.
  • Research and consult on non-traditional and innovative training methods.
  • Provide technical assistance to administrators, instructors, and users accessing the LMS.

SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation, learning management systems, and web delivery tools
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques
  • Experience taking developed training material and putting it into SCORM-compliant training modules
  • Ability to make edits to existing SCORM training modules
  • Professionalism in writing, crafting emails, conducting meetings, and navigating sensitive information
  • Detail-oriented with advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organization and project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and engage with colleagues across the organization to advance the execution of project deliverables
  • Committed to the PHMC mission of building healthier communities through partnerships with government, foundations, businesses, and community-based organizations to improve the health of the community by providing outreach, health promotion, education, research, planning, technical assistance, and direct services
  • Flexible with the ability to work independently and as a team both in person and virtually as needed

LOCATION: This position is office-based and located in Center City Philadelphia.
HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must meet ONE of the following qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, education, human resources, health informatics, training, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant professional experience as a training coordinator or comparable position
    • Master's degree in one of the subject areas listed above and 2+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience with Talent LMS and SCORM is preferred.
