Position Summary
Performs planning and coordination duties for statewide training offerings and Event management for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and the NMSBDC Network. Duties & Responsibilities
- Create training programs and prepare any learning materials needed.
- Determine the training offerings that are needed for pre-venture/Nascent individuals interested in starting a business including current and former incarcerated individuals
- Determine the training offerings that are needed for start-up small businesses less than 1 year in business
- Determine the training offerings that are needed for small businesses than have been in business more than 1 year
- Identify training requirements and institute plans for training new and existing employees.
- Directs and coordinates customers, stakeholders and training attendees in tasks and logistics related to a variety training offerings.
- Schedules training offerings; communicates and coordinates with all effected personnel and organizations.
- Establishes and maintains communication with internal and external customers.
- Trains and directs personnel that are assisting with training offerings.
- Manage and maintain the training delivery system of E-Center and subsequent scheduling of training offerings.
- Develops and maintains monthly training calendars.
- Provides project management for training that is offered as a series.
- Performs website and intranet updates to provide training events.
- Market and recruit in a collaborative team approach to maximize enrollment and exposure of training offerings.
- Enforces department procedures, policies, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with NMSBDC service center directors to recruit, interview, recommend hiring and orient instructors to deliver training programs.
- Conduct surveys to evaluate how programs are received and if changes are needed.
- Directs and coordinates customers, stakeholders, clients, and college staff in tasks and logistics related to a variety of events.
- Schedules events; communicates and coordinates with all effected personnel and organizations.
- Supervises and participates in all aspects of conference coordination, including room arrangements, catering, and audio-visual equipment set-up.
- Establishes and maintains communication with internal and external customers.
- Organizes events with key stakeholders and customers.
- Develops and maintains monthly events calendars.
- Other assigned and related duties.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Knowledge of instructional methods, coaching and skill development.
- Knowledge of traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of hosting and conducting online training.
- Knowledge of event scheduling principles.
- Knowledge of audio - visual system operations.
- Knowledge of wireless connectivity principles
- Knowledge of customer service principles.
- Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in decision-making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to provide quality customer service.
- Ability to create and monitor contracts for training curriculum and instructors.
- Ability to coordinate with a variety of stakeholders in accordance with strict deadlines and contract terms.
- Ability to identify partners and negotiate collaborative relationships to deliver co-sponsored training offerings while preventing duplication of services.
- Ability to coordinate training offerings times to meet client needs and resource availability.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree and 1 year experience in training/event coordination or related area
OR
- Bachelor's degree and or three (3) years' experience in training/event coordination or related area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in human resources, education, business, or a related field.
- One (1) year experience in providing online training offerings
- Certification from The Society for Human Resource
- Management (SHRM) or the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).
