Requirements:
- High school graduate or advanced education
- 3 – 5 yrs. experience in a manufacturing setting
- Safety experience in a manufacturing setting
- Excellent communication skills: Candidates in this position will need to convey, explain, or interpret complex specialist information in a simple manner.
- Teamwork: In this role, the candidate will be required to work with other staff members and top management. The ability to collaborate effectively and work well with others is required. Be Teachable/Flexible with new concepts or ideas.
- Interpersonal skills: In this role, the candidate will be required to build and maintain relationships, coordinate plans, distribute information, and develop a mutual knowledge base for effective implementation of health and safety guidelines.
- Strong decision-making skills: Being involved in the decision-making process is paramount to this role.
- Organizational skills: The candidate should be able to prioritize, schedule, and organize activities to meet the objectives of the company and the role.
- Problem-solving skills: The ability to resolve problems creatively using practical solutions is essential.
- Computer literacy: Ability to create work instructions, 1 pt. lessons, signs and graphics, and presentations using Microsoft Office tools.
Responsibilities:
- Onboarding facilitation: Coordinate with HR and area managers to follow up on new hires – training objectives checklist, safety or other concerns, answer questions, job training.
- Operational support: Willing and able to learn and perform all jobs on the site as necessary.
- Training: Willing and able to receive safety and operational excellence training. Provide training to team members. Create training sheets and presentations. Gather and record training completions.
- Auditor: Perform safety and operational audits.
- First Responder: Receive training as a first responder and train others. Serve as incident coordinator when there is a near miss, accident, or injury.
- Flexible schedule support: Serve as contact and support for all shifts and departments. Vary schedule to work with evening and weekend shift team members.
