The EMT Skills Lab Coordinator operates under the general direction of the UCDFD EMS Division Chief or other assigned Division Head and the EMT Program Director. The EMT Skills Lab Coordinator works with the UCDFD EMT Lead Instructor and other EMS Division members to coordinate and manage all aspects of the Skills Labs associated with the various EMS course offerings. Course offerings provided by the UCDFD EMS Division, include, but not limited to the EMT Program, EMT mentorship Program, EMT Skill Refreshers, and other short-term Continuing Education Classes and Trainings.
The incumbent oversees equipment management, maintenance, and supply lists. They schedule instructors for labs, and works with lead instructors to create lesson plans and objectives for the Skills Labs for the various programs, ensures that skills instructors know the plan for each Skills Lab, and leads a team of skills instructors during skill-lab sessions for the various programs. The EMT Skills Lab Coordinator will also lead skill sessions with students, and must be competent in teaching all skills associated with the various programs.
