We have an exciting opportunity for a Calibration Trainee Technician to join our team based in Houston, TX.
The primary function of this role is to carry out equipment calibrations per either the manufacturer's guidelines or the appropriate recognized standard. To ensure the calibrated equipment is verified against procedures and standards that provide traceability to recognized standards. Ensure all equipment is prepared, tested, labelled, identified, stored safely, and packaged appropriately before delivery. To carry out electrical safety tests as required by regulations. To maintain and complete work orders in Ashtead’s ERP system.
PRINICPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Adhere to Ashtead Technology’s policies and operational procedures including Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality
- Follow hierarchy of controls as laid out in company risk assessments for various tasks required to be carried out
- Refer to company approval risk assessments
- Carry out electrical safety tests as required by regulations
- Ensure the laboratory and workshop remain a safe and clean working environment
- Liaise with suppliers providing third party services or supplies
- Calibration Laboratory
- Complete competency training as outlined in the competency plan
- Carry out competent quality standard calibrations per the relevant recognized standards
- Ability to prioritize workload tasks to complete tasks promptly
- Conscientious, methodical, and attentive to fine detail
- Locate measurement record sheets and method statements
- Ability to calibrate/track multiple items of equipment simultaneously impact laboratory performance
- Ability to lift DWT weight set of 10 weights during repeat calibrations
- Utilise company’s ERP to accurately record calibration results in line with manufacturer and industry standards in line with manufacturers guidelines or recognised standards.
- Service delivery
- Advanced Wiring / Cable Assembly and soldering skills
- Testing and preparing equipment for calibration in a consistent manner
- Fault finding and problem-solving ability
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs from ground level to a height 3ft
- Asset Management
- Ensuring hire equipment is clearly labelled and identified
- Completing equipment repairs to manufacturers specifications
- Commissioning new equipment
- Ensure that equipment is stored correctly and safely
- Package equipment suitable for transport requirement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERENCE/SKILLS
Required:
- Associates Degree in Electronic field or equivalent Military training
- Problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good IT Skills Microsoft Office in particular Excel
Preferred:
- Previous calibration experience
- Experience in electronics/fault finding
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
